What is an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships provide you with the skills you need for your chosen career, along with a nationally recognised qualification.
An Apprenticeship is your path to a paid job where you can earn a wage whilst you’re training, giving you invaluable industry experience.
You will also be entitled to employee benefits such as holiday leave.

“I’ve really enjoyed exploring the different ways of helping young people with their learning, and growing my confidence throughout the course.
“The employer that I worked with was Pilgrim’s Way Primary School, where I worked alongside my tutor, Beverly, who was amazing as well.
“To build my skills in the employer setting is amazing, because I could see myself growing each step of the way with different skills. As an example, my confidence grew relating to behaviour management as well.
“By completing my apprenticeship now, I can see myself maybe going to a higher level apprenticeship too. I’d highly recommend them.”

“I have always enjoyed learning and education, and it was suggested to me by my line manager that I do the Apprenticeship to upskill myself but also bring more skills to the company.
“When she asked me what aspect of the business I’d like to progress into, I decided that HR is what interests me most.
“I did some research and found the apprenticeship at EKC Canterbury College. I liked that there was face to face study sessions.
“This was important, because I didn’t come from a HR background I wanted to have in person sessions so I could bounce my ideas off other HR professionals.”

“The best part of my apprenticeship was learning how to do internal doors.
“I wasn’t confident at first, but learning that skill set was very relevant for my future if I wanted to go into doing my own business, and learning that skill set was something I’m glad I learned.
“I currently work for Croudace Homes who I’ve been working with from 2020.
“I did the Level 2 Carpentry Apprenticeship, and then I progressed to doing Level 3.
“I then went to go and become a senior Site Manager, and I’m now doing my Level 4 Apprenticeship.
“The progression routes with an apprenticeship are endless, and it’s opened up new opportunities for me.”
