In September 2025, Vicky enrolled on the CIPD Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship with EKC Training. She was keen to develop her knowledge of HR and gain a recognised qualification. We caught up with her to hear how her Apprenticeship experience has been.
From the very beginning, the course has given me valuable insight into the world of HR and the confidence to take on new responsibilities in my workplace.
I’ve been able to apply what I’m learning straight away, supporting onboarding and recruitment, working closely with managers to help implement new strategies, and providing support to employees through periods of change. Being able to link theory to real, day-to-day practice has made the learning meaningful and rewarding.
One of the standout aspects of the Apprenticeship has been the support from my Assessor. With clear guidance, regular contact and constructive feedback, I’ve always felt well supported and encouraged to stay on track. The ongoing reviews have helped me reflect on my practice, recognise my progress and identify areas where I can continue to develop.
Another huge benefit of this Apprenticeship is having CIPD membership funded as part of the programme. This has given me access to a wide range of essential resources, including training tools, case studies, and up-to-date HR law and legislation. These resources have been invaluable in helping me understand how best practice applies directly to my role and how I can make a real impact in my organisation.
Attending College once a week has also been a great experience. The course offers a well-balanced blend of face-to-face learning and independent study, which has suited me well alongside my job.
Being in College has allowed me to network with other apprentices, share experiences and learn from people working in different organisations and sectors. While balancing work and study can be challenging at times, the structure of the course and the support from EKC Training have made it manageable.
I would highly recommend the CIPD Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship to anyone looking to start or develop a career in HR. It has given me a strong foundation in people practice, practical experience within my role, and the confidence to continue progressing in the people profession.
At EKC Training, we offer a wide range of Apprenticeships across multiple sectors, supporting both learners and employers to develop skills for the future.
