English, Maths and ICT

Our English, Maths and ICT courses will provide you with essential skills and qualifications for work and everyday life and enable progression onto further study.

Why should I study English and Maths?

English and Maths skills are vital for many jobs and daily life. Achieving qualifications in English and Maths will improve your employment prospects and further study opportunities.

We offer a range of fully-funded Functional Skills English and Maths courses, from Entry Level to Level 2, with the flexibility to sit your assessments throughout the year.

Functional Skills qualifications offer you an alternative to GCSEs. Many universities and education establishments accept Functional Skills as part of their entry criteria as a Level 2 qualification is the equivalent of a GCSE pass at grade C/4.

Our courses are free*

Our courses are fully-funded if you have not previously achieved a GCSE grade A*-C, or a 4 or higher.

Many of our courses may also be free to those aged over 19 and are unemployed or on a low income.

For more information and to check your eligibility for funding, please contact us.

“I’m from Bangladesh and I came here three years ago. English is not my first language so I find it quite hard to communicate with people so I joined this English class recently to help me improve.

I have learnt lots of things such as speaking, listening, reading, writing as well as ICT skills. I am now on the Entry Level 3 course after finishing Entry Level 1 and Entry Level 2. The teachers help us understand the problems that we are facing and see how to face them head on.”

“I already have the qualification, but for me, it’s more about refreshing my brain for myself to be able to be a bit more confident in my Maths skills.

“I’m progressing to becoming a chef and this course is helping me gain new skills which I can put into practice in the workplace.”
