“I have developed my skills massively since being at the company I did my Apprenticeship with.

“When I started I was a junior member of the team and now I have additional responsibilities. I have been told I am doing really well in the company which is great to hear.

“Thanks to my experience, I have been offered a role in the company. I really love it there and can see a long career with them.

“With time it became clear why the work completed at College was important for me to do, so that I can perform my duties to the best of my abilities.”

Callum
Level 2 Wood Production and Manufacturing Apprenticeship

“I have always enjoyed learning and education, and it was suggested to me by my line manager that I do the Apprenticeship to upskill myself but also bring more skills to the company.

“When she asked me what aspect of the business I’d like to progress into, I decided that HR is what interests me most.

“I did some research and found the apprenticeship at EKC Canterbury College. I liked that there was face to face study sessions.

“This was important, because I didn’t come from a HR background I wanted to have in person sessions so I could bounce my ideas off other HR professionals.”

Kate
Level 5 HR Consultant Partner Apprenticeship

“It has been hard work, but I’m so glad it’s paid off. I have two children at home, and a house to run so it’s been tough juggling everything but the support I’ve had from my workplace, my tutor and my family has been amazing.

“I don’t think I would have got through it without Louise, my tutor, as she has been a great support.

“It was a little bit daunting coming back into education as an adult, but once I got started it was fine. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the Apprenticeship helped me realise this is exactly what I want to do.

“I’d tell other Apprentice’s to keep strong and never give up. All of the hard work is so worth it.”
