Considering starting up as a Plumber or Electrician and looking for somewhere to train you up to be the best in the business? You’ve come to the right place!
EKC Plumbing and Electrical Training Centre, based on Wotton Road, Ashford, have a range of options, from beginner classes for those adventurous renovators, to advanced classes for those wanting a career in the trades.
We recently caught up with the Head of the Centre, Shaun McDonagh who told us five reasons you should join EKC Plumbing and Electrical Training Centre.
1. You can join without any previous experience
“Students who come in the front door with no experience whatsoever leave the course well-rounded Plumbers and Electricians.”
You do not need any experience of working with pipes or wires to join us. The centre is a welcoming place for you to learn and grow as Plumbers and Electricians.
Whether you are looking to enter the trade after your course, or start home renovations, the tutors will assess your level and find a course that fits with your skill set and knowledge.
2. You’ll be supported every step of the way

You will benefit from specialist support throughout your time at the Centre. Your tutors are professionals who have worked in the trades and understand the needs and demands of the profession.
If you need extra support with reading and writing, we have systems in place to help. All theory lessons are recorded and transcribed meaning you can watch the lessons back. We also offer a live translation system that can convert your tutor’s words into other languages, helping to support learners who speak other languages.
3. There are a range of progression options
“We don’t stop at Level 2. We stretch and challenge our learners. We give them all the little additional add-on courses like power flushing, because we know that that is a skills gap out there.”
You can tailor your learning depending on what you would like to do next. On our courses you’ll learn a range of skills such as understanding central heating systems, working with copper pipe, and fixing electrical faults.
Once you have the basics down you can progress onto higher level courses such as the Unvented Cylinders, Retrofit and Air Source Heat Pump Systems.

We know that adult life doesn’t pause for study, and that’s okay. From school drop-offs to work commitments, your days can be full.
