After almost a year working towards her Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship, Eli has become EKC Training’s first recipient of the Gold Award in the Aspire to Excellence programme.
To achieve this, she has attended learning-related social events, extra online-learning offered by EKC Training, arranged social events for her fellow employees at Eco Energy Install and helped to arrange key meetings in her role.
She said: “At the end of the course, you get your graduation and that’s an achievement, but being recognised for going the extra mile and the extra bits during my work, it actually makes me feel really good.”
Receiving a Gold Award means that she also achieves a Silver and Bronze Award as part of the programme.
Eli was diagnosed with a debilitating illness in her past, but because of a new treatment, has expanded her life expectancy and capabilities.
“That was the boost for me to go and get myself a proper career. That’s why I’ve done the Apprenticeship, and I’m just loving my new job,” she said.
“Since being in this job and doing the Apprenticeship, it really highlights all my abilities and skills and everything I’ve learned over the last 17 years of being in different employment.”
