Some of our plumbing students are progressing with a new goal in mind: to master renewable energy.
EKC Plumbing and Electrical Training Centre in Ashford launched its Green Skills Provision in November 2024, with a modern renewable energy classroom filled with innovative systems available for students to study.
Since then, our Plumbing students have benefitted from studying additional qualifications like our Award in Air Source Heat Pump Systems.
This course has been developed in line with National Occupational Standards and informed by industry working groups, ensuring it meets current professional and regulatory expectations.
James, Level 2 Plumbing student has previously said: “Shaun (Head of the EKC Plumbing and Electrical Training Centre) mentioned it’s one of the only places in Kent that offer that sort of training. Hearing him talk about it and how passionate he is inspires me.”
This course is designed for heating engineers that want to move from fossil fuels to net zero energy sources, as well as our plumbing students who want to train their way into the industry.
