Career prospects

“I’ve been doing this for two years and wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps.
“The College are really supportive of my work, especially when I go out to competitions like KFE4Skills.
When I complete my Apprenticeship, I hope to go into a full-time role with the company I’m currently working at.
“I’m loving the experiences I get, and one day I’d like to run the business and help other people work on a variety of cars.”

“I really enjoy the design element of my Apprenticeship.
“In my placement, there are a lot of ladies who I can look up to and work with to become a better Engineer.
“I enjoy the networking side of my course when I’m studying at EKC Dover College.
“I can hear about what other apprentices are doing and what companies they’re working with.
“Thanks to the Apprenticeship, I’d say I’m getting a deeper understanding of the industry than school provided.”

“The experience here has been great as I’ve learnt a lot of new things. Everyone supports you here and you’re never on your own if you’re struggling with a task.
“This opportunity has given me a better career path as I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after school.
“Now, I’ve been able to go on big jobs and watch them get sent out which is always nice to see.
“For example, I worked on a footbridge that was sent out to Chiverton Cross in Cornwall, and there was lots of welding on this project which made me proud at the end.”
